EARLY START AUTISM INTERVENTION PROGRAM (ESAIP)
What is ESAIP?
ESAIP is a non-EIBT introductory service for infants (under age three) and their parents. This 1-to-1Discrete Trial Training (DTT) is based on Behavioral Principles and takes place in the home or daycare setting. Programming is tailored to each child’s individual needs and skill level. Skills taught include: Basic and Advanced Imitation, Social Skills and Play Skills, Beginning and Intermediate Conversation, Eye Contact and Joint Referencing, Verbal Expression, Reduction of Stereotypic Behaviors, and Tolerance.
Who is eligible for ESAIP Services?
Children suspected to have Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), who have not received a diagnosis of ASD by a Clinical Psychologist, are eligible to receive approximately 10 hours per week of Discrete Trial Training . For children with an ASD diagnosis, approximately 15 hours per week of Discrete Trial Training are offered.
